The Sensual Kitchen
Prerequisite: None
Class length: 3 Hours
Instructor:Kris Wrede
Overview:
In this amazing hands-on workshop you will learn ancient secrets of lust and enhancing libido. We will gently explore the Kama Sutra, Romantic Poetry, Sensual Massage, and Foods for Arousal. We will unlock these ancient secrets using wondrous techniques that have been used for 1000's of years to heighten sexual desire and make lovemaking infinitely more pleasurable.
In the Sensual Kitchen you will learn to prepare unusual recipes to make your daily life more sensual and to appreciate the vibrancy of cooking with essential oils. We will create yummy deserts like Chocolate Caliente and Drunken Figs, and other pasionate potions.
A few sample recipes from the classes:
Drunken Figs
Soak about 20 dried figs in a covered glass dish for a few days in cup of Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum. If you don't have enough time soak them overnight and heat a little to plump up the figs. To the top of the mixture before closing add 1/8 cup of honey with the following drops of essential oils mixed in well :
Lemon 20 drops
Cardamon 10 drops
Ginger 5 drops
The figs are ready when they are nice and plump. Stir every few hours.
They are now perfect to use as an incredible topping for desserts, salads, yogurts, pound cakes and are wonderful on top of cooked squashes. For dessert toppings you can mix a few teaspoons of the rum sauce in as well, or can be used added into fruit cakes.
Drunken Fig Salad
Heat on low 1 tablespoon of olive oil and stir in 10 drops of lemon essential oil. Add 2 one inch sprigs of fresh chopped rosemary. Take 6 of the drunken figs strained and cut into small pieces. Add this to the heat along with 2 tablespoons of the rum sauce and 1/4 cup of pecans. Heat about 10 minutes until the liquid is soaked in. Serve warm over salad greens and goat cheese. Serves 2.
Make sure not to use more than the amount of the essential oils as they are very highly concentrated essences. It is really beneficial to use organic or wild crafted or non sprayed essential oils as they are the safest to ingest.
Pear Chutney and Goat Cheese Bruschetta
Pear Chutney: Peel and core 2 pounds of pears, about 4 total. Cut into 1/2 inch slices. Cook over medium heat and add the following:
1/8 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup raisins chopped
3 crystallized ginger chunks or 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
Zest of 1 lemon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon Chinese Five Spice Powder
Cook about 45 minutes to 1 hour on medium heat until liquid evaporates and sugar caramelizes. It will be dark and thick. Stir frequently the last 10 minutes. At the end add 1/2 cup honey with the following essential oils mixed in well:
15 drops Orange essential oil
15 drops Lemon essential oil
5 drops cardamon essential oil
Goat Cheese Bruschetta
Soften one 10 ounce log package of montrachet goat cheese at room temperature.
Cut one 8 or 9 ounce loaf of sourdough bread into 32 small slices about 1/2 inch thick. Brush just the edges with a little olive oil. Add 2 teaspoons of the chutney to each piece of bread and top with 1 teaspoon of the goat cheese. Broil on low for a few minutes and serve. Makes 32 servings.
If you want the bread more crispy and if you have a little extra time you can broil the bread first, turning once. then add the goat cheese and chutney and warm in the oven a for a few minutes.
